Detroit Avenue will be closed beginning at 4pm, Saturday July 21, 2012 to host another popular event this summer. The Lakewood Summer Meltdown 5K race is back again with entertainment and family fun on the street. From Mars on the west to Marlow on the east, Downtown Lakewood will be filled with festivities. Join in one of the active living programs such as fencing, yoga, skateboarding, the very popular sprinkler park and much more, or just stroll, bike or skate through downtown Lakewood and enjoy the sites, sounds and fun before the race. The 5K race will begin and end in downtown followed by the Street Party with live music. Food and beverages will be available and there is NO cover! Everyone is welcome.
Race packet pick-up is Thursday and Friday, 4-7pm @ Geiger’s Clothing and Sports.
