Hello, it is that time again,To laugh and sing and shout,We call it “Light Up Lakewood,”Grab your coat and come on out;
Come join the Christmas Spirits,As they wander thru the streets,And share some special memories,Plus a load of Christmas treats;
First we light up Lakewood Hospital,Where we’ve never had a glitch,Cause Santa’s there in person,And he helps to pull the switch;
Then we head up Detroit Avenue,With lights glistening everywhere,And food and drinks and specials,That merchants wish to share;
Everyone seems in the spirit,You’ll hear oohs and aahs and signs,And you’ll see that awesome magic,When you look in the children’s eyes;
You’ll hear Christmas carolers singing,You’ll see the holiday trolley pass,You can stop at Rozi’s Wine Shop,Make a toast and raise your glass;
Then stop at Masonic Temple,And Wander through the door.To hear happy singing choirs,High school bands and so much more;
Then cross to Lakewood Library,For stories you’ll want to hear,For crafts, performing artists,And for Santa, now that’s good cheer;
So come on out and don’t be late,You surely must attend,For if you do, you’ll never miss,It’s “Light Up Lakewood” time again.
