While the day was a brisk 45 degrees, the sun was shining and Lakewood neighbors and their dogs put on their finest to participate in this years Halloween Event up Detroit Avenue.   Many folks said they wished Panera Bread was open so they could grab some coffee and other refreshments.  Don’t worry that opening is only a few weeks away.We had over 200 registrants this year and we have to commend the dogs for their great behavior.  The dogs moved to the starting line of the parade to the tune of “Who Let The Dogs Out” and we were off with pooches strutting their stuff up the Avenue.

Crowds lined both sides of the street and the “puparazzi” were snapping more photos than taken of Brad and Angelina leaving their favorite Wal-Mart.   Proceeds from this event go to benefit Downtown Lakewood revitalization and Lakewood Animal Shelter.

Browns Mascot Chomps

The judging “grandstand” was in front of the INA Building on Detroit and the parade turn-around was in front of the Library.  Awards will be presented behind the INA Building following the parade.  Parade Grand Marshall, the Cleveland Browns mascot “Chomps” had a great time mingling with the Lakewood crowd and predicted a Brown’s win over the Steelers this weekend.

Tunes were provided by DJ Gus from Kidd Productions, and he really got the dogs and the crowd swaying to the music.
