LakewoodAlive, Inc. http://www.lakewoodalive.com , a 501c(3) organization was founded in 2002 as Lakewood Community Progress Inc. LakewoodAlive is an economic development organization whose vision is to improve the quality of life of residents by creating alliances with community leaders, leveraging community assets and expanding the pool of available resources in order to facilitate economic stability and growth in the City of Lakewood.
Downtown Lakewood is a volunteer-based program dedicated to the revitalization of Lakewood’s historic business district. We are a nationally accredited Main Street™ Community as designated by the National Trust of Historic Preservation and Heritage Ohio.
As a Main Street community we are committed to a proven, disciplined approach to revitalizing our downtown area using the Four Point Approach™The Main Street Approach gradually builds on existing resources and fosters improved community leadership and support on behalf of the Central Business District for the long term. Downtown Lakewood is defined geographically as the business district along Detroit Avenue bounded by Bunts Road on the east end, and Arthur Avenue on the west.
